OrwellPro – How to FIX – Runtime Error 429

Orwell Pro is one of those great utilities for the production of Articles, It allows you to quickly get articles for any given topic from sites such as GoArticles.com, Ezinearticles.com,  Article city.com and many others. It’s probably one if not the best method of colating articles for the internet marketer, as it provides instant ways to export the article directly into other software such as:

• XSitePro  2.0      (FREE product brochure)
• PortalFeeder
• Content Composer
• A WordPress Blog
• or you can simply save the output to text or HTML.

And yet, all of this only applies if everything works as it should, and assuming you can run the software in the first place!

Having used Orwell for a number of years without any problems, I was very upset when one day it refused to run. In fact it became a struggle to get it working again. The problem being error messages as soon as any attempt to run the software was made……..

Having fixed it, a year had passed and it again stopped working, just as before it would not run, could I remember how I fixed the problem ?……….
No chance, so again I struggled to get it operational again, except this time I would document every step I made to get it up and running, and if you are having the same problem, here is how it can be fixed.

Here are 2 of the most common “error messages” you may get!

If it says
it appears you do not have an up-to-date version of vbscript.dll installed

OR

Error Message
Runtime Error 429: ActiveX component cannot create object.
Cause
The Microsoft Windows Scripting Engine is not installed on the system.

Here is the Fix!

(this fix may also help other programmes that use VB6)

Firstly, you need to un-install the software and remove all traces of it from your hard drive ( I use Your uninstaller ) then restart your computer, and re-install Orwell again.

Probably wise to see at this point if your still getting any of these error messages, if so follow these steps…….

Step 1.
Your going to need to install the “Windows Script Package” this includes the Windows Scripting engine, and can be downloaded from the link below, and install it………. If your still getting same error, continue to step 2.

Step2.

You are now going to need to download the VB6_Explorer_Bar_Control_Binary.zip

Download Here: VB6 Explorer Bar  – only 65k

Inside the zip you will find a file called- vbalExpBar6.ocx, this needs to be placed inside your system folder:
C:WindowsSystem32      (assuming your system is on the C: drive)

(You may be required to be logged in as an administrator to do this)

Step 3.

Then, click the windows Start button (lower left corner of the screen), and select Run

This will then bring up this little Run window,
copy and paste  regsvr32 vbalexpbar6.ocx
 into the box and click on the OK button
 (see pic below)

You should get a message telling you it has succeeded.

Step 4.
If you still have the same problem, you may also need to run these commands also:

regsvr32 vbaliml6.ocx

regsvr32 ssubtmr6.dll
