Comment Sniper Fix – Exception EFCreateError in Module CommentSniper.exe at 0001DCAA
Comment Sniper is one of those programs i use on a daily basis, although i don’t have to do anything as it runs on start up.
While it worked perfectly well on two other computers that had Windows XP installed, as soon as i upgraded to Vista and then windows 7, the problems started.
What i was getting was an Exception error – Exception EFCreateError in Module CommentSniper.exe at 0001DCAA
Here is the FIX
- Open the folder where you have installed Comment Sniper, and right click on the file – config.dat and select properties at the bottom of the list.
- With the proerties window open, click on the Security tab
- Click on the edit button To Change Permisions
- Select Users
- click the area to put a checkmark in the allow column for Write
- click on apply
- click on OK
Comment Sniper will now open and run from startup

Lee,
I was referred to Comment Sniper by Russell Bruson. Unfortunately on Win 7 x64, I can’t get it to run. I tried your fix and no luck.
Was hoping could find others that were able to get it working.
Glad it is working for you.
As i dont have the 64bit version of windows 7 i cannot really help you any further or test it, but i’m pretty sure that the method i described would work , as it’s only preventing the config.dat file from being written, and I would think it’s just a permission that needs to be set correctly.
There must be some where in the properties to set the permission to allow you to set a write permission to allow – does it have a check mark opposite the Write allow column ?
Also Make sure also that you are signed in on windows 7 as Administrator – then there is no reason for it not to work for you
Lewt me know how you get on !
Lee,
I figured out that if I configure it to run in compatibility mode of XP SP3 it appears to be working.
Thanks for the encouragement.
