The trouble is Adobe are well known for Cocking up their Flash Player Installer – (You need this to watch FLV Videos)

The thing is, there is no alternative, No Flash PlayerNo Videos – and from time to time Adobe decides to upgrade their flash player, tells you to upgrade and then it all goes  ”tits up” , and your lost and don’t know what to do.

Well, this happened to me today, and is likely to happen to you also when they tell you to install the latest version. If you try to update to the latest version of Flash Player, it may fail and show this . . . .

Here is how to fix the problem

  1. Download this zip file and extract the contents onto the desktop Click Here
  2. With the file now on the desktop, double click on the subinacl.exe file, this will install the microsoft  SubInACL software onto your computer.
  3. With that installed ok, double click on the reset_minimal.cmd and wait for it to do it’s thing.
  4. Run the installer for Flash Player 10 again, and if all goes well you will see this message and your again up and running with the latest version of Adobe Flash Player

  2. Hey Lee,
Quick off topic question. What plugin are you using for the bottom of your site where it pops up with a content window that is not scrollable? Just curious. I like it.

  6. Thanks so much for the fix! I’ve been on one of those so-called chat help lines for hours with the IT folks for a class I’m taking at a local technical college and they were no help whatsoever.

I’m going to send an email to the sales rep (for the textbook company associated with the simulation software that I have to use with the hybrid course) with a link to your webpage showing where I finally found the help allowing me to get their software package to function. Their tech support just kept telling me to re-load the simulation software despite my stating that the Flash Player kept bombing.

  8. Thank you for the Adobe Flash Player failed to register fix. It worked like a charm. Wish I’d found it before all the other tries that didn’t.
